Affen Tzu history
The Affen Tzu is a modern designer breed, originating from the crossbreeding of the Affenpinscher and the Shih Tzu. Both parent breeds have rich histories; the Affenpinscher, hailing from Germany, was bred as a ratter, while the Shih Tzu has roots in ancient Tibet and China, revered as a royal companion. The Affen Tzu blend is relatively new, emerging in the last few decades as a result of the designer dog trend, which seeks to blend desirable traits from purebred lines. While not yet recognized as a distinct breed by major kennel clubs, the Affen Tzu continues to gain fans for its endearing personality and manageable size.
